Our Story

From Zurich to the Cape

It all began at a birthday party in Zurich. A mutual friend was celebrating, we got talking – and never quite stopped. That was three years ago. Since then, two have become a little three: our little son Yaron is the best thing that has ever happened to us.

South Africa has been part of Emanuel’s life for as long as he can remember. He first came to the Cape as a baby of a few months and has returned ever since – for the open skies, the light, and for his father, with whom this country still connects him today. It is a piece of home he wanted to share with us.

In September 2026 we said our civil vows in Zurich. The celebration will be where the mountains meet the sea and the evenings turn golden: on 17 November 2027, in Somerset West at the Cape – with the people who matter most to us.

Two days at the Cape

We celebrate over two days: a relaxed welcome lunch to arrive and settle in – and the wedding the next day, with ceremony, sundowner, dinner and dancing.

Getting to the Cape

Somerset West is 40 minutes from Cape Town airport. Come a few days early – Cape Town, the Winelands and safari are right at the doorstep.

Flights

Direct ZRH–CPT approx. 11.5 h (seasonal) or via Johannesburg, Dubai or Doha. Book early – November is high season.

Entry

Swiss and EU passports: no visa up to 90 days. Passport valid at least 30 days beyond your return (6 months to be safe), two blank pages. Since July 2026 a digital Traveller Declaration must be completed online before departure.

Rental car

Recommended from the airport. Left-hand traffic, good roads. Shuttles run on the wedding night.

Our tip

Come a few days early and stay on – Cape Town before, Winelands or safari after.
